A new chapter for Disney Lorcana!
Hello, everyone!
Over the weekend of April 25–26, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil, we witnessed an event that marks a new chapter in the history of Disney Lorcana: Brazil, full of passion and excitement, became part of the game’s official circuit for the first time! And it undoubtedly proved that it truly deserves a place in this wonderful and magical world.
With over 400 participants in the main event, the Disney Lorcana Challenge brought together not only the Brazilian audience—excited and experiencing the competitive circuit for the first time—but also travelers from around the world, who came to enjoy not only the magic of the event, but also the unique combination of that magic with everything Brazil has to offer.
In addition to the main event, there were dozens of side events, including several aimed at beginners, showing how the Brazilian audience has embraced Disney Lorcana, which has all the potential to grow more and more in our region.
Beyond tournaments and competitions, the event also fostered a true integration between the Brazilian community and the world of Disney Lorcana. There were costume contests, a tournament area dedicated exclusively to children, meet-and-greets with artists, a trading space for cards, and much more. It was a weekend filled with experiences and fun, celebrating the incredible community that has embraced this card game and the entire Disney universe that comes with it.
In the main event, the Disney Lorcana Challenge, we also witnessed history being written before our eyes as the highly skilled American player Zan Syed was crowned champion of the Disney Lorcana Challenge – São Paulo.
Not only Zan became the first Disney Lorcana champion on Brazilian lands, but as well the first three-time Disney Lorcana Challenge Champion.
His deck of choice could be none other than the powerful Amber-Emerald “Dogs,” a deck with which he had already claimed victory at DLC Ghent earlier in March. Some adjustments to the list were necessary, showcasing the champion’s attention to new tech options and a mindset that is always one step ahead of the metagame:
And to the delight of the Brazilian crowd, although a local player did not take the championship title, the colors—Amber and Emerald—brought a very familiar shine to the top of the podium!
For those who couldn’t attend the event in person, all the excitement of the Disney Lorcana Challenge São Paulo was broadcast in Portuguese on Copag’s official channels, both on Twitch and YouTube!
The broadcast featured an incredibly energetic team of casters and included not only commentary and analysis of all seventeen rounds of the event, but also interviews, chats, Disney Lorcana trivia, and much more!

The Disney Lorcana Challenge São Paulo also demonstrated that the game’s competitive metagame has well-defined archetypes, but ones that can be highly customizable depending on what players expect to face in a long event.
As seen, even the winning archetype—Amber/Emerald Dogs—matched the popularity of the Amethyst/Sapphire archetype in terms of numbers.
This duality becomes even more interesting when considering that Amber/Emerald typically aims to win as quickly as possible, while Amethyst/Sapphire focuses on a longer game and continuous resource accumulation.
In addition, there were also Midrange archetypes, focused on valueable plays throughout the turns. We saw Amber/Steel, popularly known as SteelSongs, an archetype centered around using Songs to gain advantages and quickly develop characters; and Amethyst/Steel, focused on playing impactful characters across the ink curve, forcing opponents to respond to each threat, often at a high resource cost.
In this regard, all players in the Top 16 deserve recognition for their skill and preparation, choosing decks they were most comfortable with while still leveraging the most powerful options within the metagame.
Now, it remains to be seen what impact the upcoming set, Wilds Unknown, will bring!

The first Disney Lorcana Challenge in Brazil has come to an end, but the story of Disney Lorcana in the country is far from over!
In early July, illumineers will once again prepare for the second Disney Lorcana Challenge of 2026 in Brazil, once again hosted in São Paulo. It will be another opportunity to see not only players from around the world, but also the best and most important part of Disney Lorcana: the community.
And now, this community has a new home in Brazil—a place that will always welcome everyone with the warmth, excitement, and affection that only a truly Brazilian embrace can offer.
